When Mel Gibson and his ex-wife split up their assets in their 2011 divorce, Robyn’s settlement was thought to be one of the largest in Hollywood history, coming to be somewhere around $400 freaking million dollars! Well, now we’ve learned she has another fat payday coming, and this one from Mel’s retirement package.
This is what Robyn is said to be getting (via TMZ):
–Half of the Screen Actors Guild pension benefits Mel accumulated during the 31 years of their marriage.
–A big chunk of Mel’s Directors Guild of America pension benefits
–Half of the 401(k) benefits Mel accumulated through their production company — Icon — during their marriage.
Not too shabby!
I always felt Mel really screwed up by letting Robyn go. I really think she did all she could to keep him in line, and through all the booze abuse (and many other types of abuse I’m sure) she and their kids endured in those 31 years that they were married (she met Mel in the 70s when he was an unknown actor), the woman was close to a saint. You can’t put a price tag on that, but I’m glad she has gotten such a huge cut to help ‘ease’ the pain of the divorce. She deserves it. But really, she could feed a country with all that money!
